Privacy Policy: SERVEsimple ID Checker
How the SERVEsimple ID Checker apps for iPhone, iPad and Android handle information, in plain language.
Effective date: October 17, 2026
This policy covers the SERVEsimple ID Checker mobile apps (iOS and Android). It sits alongside our website privacy policy, which covers ccmssolutions.com, your CCMS account and billing. If the two ever differ for the apps, this page applies to the apps.
1. Who we are
The apps are published by Complete Content Management Services, Inc. ("CCMS", "we", "us"), 3641 SW 21st CT, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. You can reach us at support@ccmssolutions.com or 954-693-6422.
2. What the app does
SERVEsimple ID Checker is a tool for businesses, such as bars, venues and retailers, that check customers' age. Staff use the phone's camera to scan the barcode on the back of a US driver license or ID card. The app reads the dates stored in the barcode and shows a result (21 or older, under 21, expired, or needs a manual look) together with the details in the barcode, so staff can compare them with the printed card.
The app is free to download. It works only with a license issued to a business location by CCMS. A staff member types the location's license key into the app once. The app does not sell anything and contains no ads.
3. What the app does NOT collect or store
Information from a scanned ID, such as the name, address, date of birth, ID number, expiration date and the camera image, is processed on the phone only to show the result.
- It is not saved to the phone. The result is cleared from the screen after 30 seconds, when the next scan starts, or when the app is paused or closed.
- It is not sent to CCMS or to anyone else by the app. Our servers never receive scan information. (The only records the app can send are the anonymous entries of the optional check log, and only when someone taps Send to account. These never include ID details.)
- No photo or video is saved, and the app asks for no access to your photos, files, contacts, microphone or location.
- By default there is no scan history and no list of scanned people. The optional check log described below is off unless a business switches it on, it never contains personal details, and it leaves the phone only if someone taps Send to account.
- No advertising, no analytics or tracking tools of our own, and no advertising identifier. We do not sell or share information for advertising.
One thing the phone does remember briefly, in memory only: so the app can warn you if the same ID number is scanned twice in one session, it keeps a short one-way fingerprint (part of a cryptographic hash) of each ID number scanned since the app was opened. It is never written to storage and disappears when the app is closed.
Optional check log. A business can switch on a check log in the app (Check log). It is off by default. When it is on, the app records, for each check, only: the date and time, the state that issued the ID, the result shown (for example 21 or older, under 21 or expired), the names of any warnings shown, how long the scan took, the app's light setting and the app version. It does not record names, dates of birth, ID numbers, addresses, photos or the contents of the barcode. By default the log stays on the phone and is excluded from device backups. It is sent to CCMS only if someone taps “Send to account” in the Check log. When they do, the app sends the unsent entries together with the location’s license key and the phone’s random install ID, over an encrypted connection, to that business’s CCMS account so the owner and its authorised staff can review them, export them and attach them to support tickets or incident reports. The business can keep, export and delete these records in its account, and we do not use them for advertising or sell or share them. Nothing is sent automatically. It keeps at most 2,000 entries and removes entries older than 90 days. The business can export it (the app shares it only when you tap Share / export) or clear it at any time. A record that a check was made is not proof that the ID was genuine.
4. What the app does send: the license check
The app's own internet use is one short, secure (HTTPS) request to our license service at account.ccmssolutions.com, made when you activate a phone, when you tap "Check license now", and automatically in the background every few hours while the app is open. It sends:
- the location license key you entered;
- a random install ID the app creates on first use (it is not your advertising ID, hardware ID or phone number);
- the device model: on Android the manufacturer and model (for example "samsung SM-F936U"), on iPhone and iPad just "iPhone" or "iPad"; and
- the app version.
Our license service replies with whether the license is active. The reply includes a digitally signed license token, which the app checks and keeps so scanning continues to work for a period without an internet connection.
5. What CCMS records, and for how long
When a phone checks in, our systems record:
- a one-way hash of the install ID (we do not store the install ID itself) together with the device model, the app version, and the first and last time that phone checked in, so that a license can be limited to its allowed number of phones and the business's administrator can see and remove phones;
- the last time the location's license was checked;
- a one-way hash of the license key, plus a short partial preview of it (the first and last few characters) so the business can recognize which key is which. The full key is shown to the business once and is not kept in readable form; and
- your device's IP address, held in a short-lived record used to limit abuse of the service. These records are purged automatically and are normally gone within a few days. Routine web-server logs (IP address, time, the requested address and the app's user-agent text) are also kept for security and troubleshooting for a limited time.
The license itself (the business's location name, status, trial and subscription details and billing) belongs to the business's CCMS account and is covered by the website privacy policy. We keep license and phone records while the license is active and for a limited period afterwards for support, accounting and security, and delete or anonymize them on request or when they are no longer needed. We use this information only to run, secure and support the license service. We do not sell it.
Our servers run on Google Cloud infrastructure.
6. Camera permission
The app asks for the camera only to read the barcode on an ID. The camera runs only while a scan is in progress. Camera images are analyzed one at a time on the phone and discarded. You can turn the permission off in your phone's settings; the app will then be unable to scan.
7. Third-party components
- iPhone and iPad: barcodes are read with Apple's Vision and camera frameworks, on the device. The app uses no third-party software that collects data.
- Android: barcodes are read with Google ML Kit barcode scanning, with the reading model included inside the app, so decoding happens on the phone. Android also uses Google's CameraX camera library. Google describes in its ML Kit data disclosure that ML Kit may send diagnostic and usage information to Google while it runs, such as device model and OS version, the app's package name and version, an identifier for the app installation, performance measurements and error codes, and that it does not pass this on to third parties. Google's page lists metadata only and does not say that scanned content is sent. We do not control this Google component and we rely on Google's own description of what it sends.
8. Security
The app's own code talks to only one server, over HTTPS (encrypted) and never over plain HTTP. On Android, the app is set to trust secure connections only to account.ccmssolutions.com. The license key and token are kept in storage private to the app: in the iOS Keychain (not synced to iCloud) and in Android's app-private storage (excluded from backup). On Android, screenshots of the scanner are blocked; on iPhone and iPad the app hides its contents when it is in the app switcher and while the screen is being recorded or mirrored. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
9. Important limits of the app
The app checks dates in a barcode. It cannot tell whether an ID is genuine, and it does not look anything up in a government database. A copied or fabricated barcode can pass the date check. Businesses remain responsible for how they check age and for following the laws that apply to them.
10. Children
The apps are tools for business staff and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the license service, contact us and we will delete the related records.
11. Your choices and rights
- Remove a phone. The business's administrator can remove a phone from a location in the CCMS account portal, which stops that phone from using the license, or replace the location's license key, which stops the old key from working.
- Delete the app. On Android, uninstalling the app deletes the key, token and install ID stored by the app. On iPhone and iPad, iOS may keep Keychain items after an app is deleted, so use the administrator's remove-phone or replace-key option to end a phone's access.
- Ask us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of information we hold about you. Because the apps record only a license key, a hashed install ID and device details, the business's administrator or our support team is the quickest route. Email support@ccmssolutions.com, say which business or location is involved, and we will respond within a reasonable time and as required by law.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the apps change. We will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects what the apps collect, we will also say so in the app's store listing or release notes.
